UKULELE ORCHESTRA OF GREAT BRITAIN
ORIGINS AND INFLUENCES 9 JUNE 1987 KITTY AND GEORGE IN DAVID’S KITCHEN LONDON |
George and Kitty came round early in the evening, bringing food to eat. Kitty thought it was probably safer to bring something, rather than rely on what might not have been in my fridge. While Kitty put some pasta into a pan, prepared a sauce, and grated some cheese, George talked about the origins of the ukulele orchestra, which at that point was in its very early days.
My camcorder was also in its early days. I’d picked it up from Dixons just over twenty-four hours before, and this was only the second thing I’d filmed. Later in the evening we watched “Badlands” on TV, and then laughed a lot when we replayed what I’d recorded earlier. |
